General information
The Priory City of Lincoln Academy has approximately 130 students in Years 12 and 13.    We have around 30 courses on offer, including traditional A Levels, Applied A Levels and a range of vocational courses. Some courses are exam based but many include coursework and continuous assessment. In addition, some courses offer a chance for work experience. We also provide a one-year programme of study for some Year 12 students, which is specifically designed to meet the needs of these individual students. Our membership of the Federatin of Academies means that our students are also able to study certain A Levels at The Priory Academy LSST.

Students are expected to study three or four subjects in Year 12, with each subject involving four or five hours' teaching time. Students are encouraged to spend a proportion of their non-contact time on independent study. A new computer suite. dedicated entirely to the Sixth Form and supervised at all times, is available for students to undertake this study.

Support & Guidance
We provide a highly supportive environment for Sixth Form students.  As well as regular reviews and monitoring of students’ academic progress, we also offer career-centred advice and guidance. Students have regular careers interviews with staff trained in careers counselling; here a full range of options including University, apprenticeships and full-time employment are discussed.

For those wishing to apply to university, an experienced team of staff are available to offer help and advice with the application process and our close links with local higher education providers offer students the chance to visit universities in order to get a taste of student life and gain some valuable additional guidance on the application process. We are proud of the fact that all students who had chosen to go to university last year were successful with their application.

Sixth Form Team
Students in the Sixth Form are supported by dedictated team of experienced staff who mentor their academic progress and aid their well being throughout their time at the Academy.  Our students are allocated a Form Group and throughout their time at the Academy, they have a Sixth Form Pastoral Manager and Student Support Assistant who are always available.

Enrichment and Leadership Opportunities
Our prefects and student Heads of House have the opportunity to develop their leadership and management skills through their regular duties and meetings with the Senior Management Team. Students also have their own committee which can plan student social events and voice issues that concern the Sixth Form to staff.

The Academy is a Sports Leaders Academy and as such provides Sixth Form students with an opportunity to obtain the Level 3 Sports Leaders qualification.  This also gives students the opportunity to work with their younger peers and children from primary schools.

Year 12 and 13 students are selected as Academy prefects and House Captains/Vice Captains. In addition, the Head Boy and Head Girl run the Academy student council meetings and report back regularly to the Senior Leadership Team.
