Governor Profiles

Members of Lincoln Local Governing Body come from a wide variety of different backgrounds. Below you will find a short biography of each of our Governors. Please click on the following link for details of appointments and attendance:

Colin Parkin - Chair
Colin is married to Julie and has two children and four grandchildren who are all at school. Most of his working life has been in the financial services sector. He works as an international speaker, business coach and mentor all over the world.  Last year he took a CEO position of a charity foundation which supports 16 to 25 year olds in education. He has many hobbies and interests which include golf, ten pin bowling and cricket.

Lynda Turton

Lynda has now retired from employment with Lincolnshire County Council where she worked in various roles which included 'Safegarding and Review' and 'Early Years.'

Lynda has served as a governor for over 20 years, initially at Sir Francis Hill CP School and then as her children progressed to senior school at Ancaster High School (as it was known then.) She is currently a governor at Priory Witham and also at Priory Lincoln Academies where she is keen to ensure all students achieve their full potential in a safe and happy environment.

Scott Bainbridge
Scott is an Operations Manager for a large retail chain. Over the last twenty years Scott has worked at many different levels within this company.  Such a breadth of experience is invaluable on the LGB. He was born and raised in Middlesbrough, but moved to Lincoln in 1996. Currently, Scott is an active member of a number of committees and has differing roles within each. He is the Health and Safety Executive Community Member for 28th Lincoln Scouts, Chair of the committee for Lincoln Navigators and parent member of Hykeham Tigers Football Club Committee. He is married with two children – one currently at the school and one who recently left the sixth form.

Simon Curtis

Headteacher at John Spendluffe Technology College in Alford. Started his teaching career in Manchester, then Bolton and returned to Lincolnshire where he grew up. He has previously been a governor at a local primary school for many years. Prior to teaching he was a Graphic Designer in Leeds, working on a range of corporate identity projects. He is married with two young children and enjoys spending time with his family, cycling and walking the dogs.
