Reading for pleasure is something we are passionate about at our academy. Our library is a hive of activity with chess, cards, craft activities and studying – reading in social time is still a big focus. As such, we recognise those students who spend their time reading, exhibiting exemplary behaviour in the library and talking about books. Each week, students are nominated daily by our librarian and then randomly picked out weekly to receive this title, a rewards card, reward points, book related prizes and sweets.

Last week was Demi S from Yr 7 and this week is Carter from Yr 7. Year 10’s and 7’s had the most nominations in 2023. Let’s see which year is the best advocate for Reading for pleasure in 2024, although Year 7's are off to a flying start! Watch this space….
