WoW Day July 2015
3rd July W.O.W. Day
World of Opportunities and Wonder
Friday 3rd July will be our first WOW day which will involve all year groups undertaking special projects together that use a theme of the wider world- natural, industrial, sporting, cultural or political. After the usual registration all year groups will be organised into different activities. There is no cost for any of these activities and the day will finish at the normal time.
Year 7 – Lincoln and the Magna Carta
Marking the 800 year anniversary of the publication, pupils will spend a day exploring the vital role Lincoln has played with the Magna Carta and its influence in the city. Students should wear normal school uniform.
Year 8 – People and Places
A day exploring family histories and migration over the centuries. Students will get a chance to investigate their own family history and explore migration over the ages. Students should wear normal school uniform.
Year 9 – The Role and Achievements of Women
Students will take part in activities to highlight achievement, contributions and leadership displayed by women in different setting. Students should wear their PE uniform as there are some physical activities as part of this day – a tracksuit and Academy polo shirt would be suitable
Year 10 - World of Work
We have a number of visitors from different local companies and industries in the Academy. Students will attend different presentations and workshops to give them a flavour of different careers that are available. As the day is based on employment we would like Year 10 students to dress smartly as if for an interview. For boys this could be their usual school trousers and shirt with a different tie, for girls normal school trousers/skirt with a different blouse/shirt. All students should wear their usual smart Academy shoes.
